Tools for DIY Skin Care Product

Some people think that natural products aren’t as effective as their conventional counterparts. However, this is untrue; when properly formulated, these products are incredibly effective. Aside from being beneficial to our skin, some of the ingredients found in nature’s bounty can also help nourish our hair and nails.

One of the most important factors that make homemade natural beauty products so easy is the fact that they can be made in just a couple of steps. You can easily whip up a variety of products such as body butter, masks, and foot soaks using just a few ingredients in your kitchen.

Below are the necessary tools and ingredients to make amazing skin-care products. While most of the ingredients can be purchased at the grocery store, other products such as oils and clays can be found online or at specialty stores.

No need to run out and grab all of the ingredients, as just a few can be easily swappable. For instance, you can use soymilk instead of goat milk in place of milk.

Preparation Equipment

I list some of the kitchen tools that I use to make various products at home. While the list is lengthy, most of the recipes can be prepared using just a few simple tools, such as bowls and containers.

Like many people, I’m a passionate baker, and while having the proper tools can make the process easier, it doesn’t mean that a good product is required. I share some of my favorite homemade skin-care products, so if something calls for a different set of tools, try doing it yourself.

Although you can use your regular tools to make your products, such as vessels and cooking tools, you can’t completely remove the use of beeswax in your recipes. This is because it can still be hard to completely remove the essential oils from your kitchen. To make the most of this natural ingredient, set aside some kitchen tools for your favorite beeswax beauty products.

Getting rid of makeup before bed can help keep your skin looking its best. According to actress and model, Deepika Padukone, her secret to having a glowing complexion is to remove all of her makeup before she goes to bed. She said that she always makes a point to remove all of her makeup before she goes to bed.

Unfortunately, chemical-based makeup removers can strip the skin of its natural oils, leaving it with a tired and slightly damaged look. Instead, use gentle alternatives such as micellar water to get rid of makeup.

Basics

  • Bowls
  • Small strainer, cheesecloth, nut milk bag
  • Grater
  • Cups for measuring
  • Pots
  • Spatulas
  • Spoons

When it comes to making your products, always use non-porous utensils such as stainless steel. Since wooden utensils are prone to contamination, they can also be used to hold harmful contaminants, such as fungi and mold. Glass, stainless steel, and enamel bowls are also good alternatives.

Some recipes call for steeping herbs or tea hotly. This method can be used to add nutrients to your skin-care products. Aside from a small strainer, a cheesecloth can also be used to strain the infused water.

Used Frequently

  • Funnels
  • Mixer (hand or stand)
  • Ice cube trays
  • Coffee grinder or mini food processor
  • Surgical gloves made of non-latex
  • Whisk

A mini food processor or coffee grinder helps remove the excess fat and flavor from food items, such as fruit and vegetables.

Since the small quantities used are often used for making quick and easy recipes, a mini food processor would be too small for most people. A hand mixer is also useful for mixing egg whites, but a whisk is also ideal for beating a single egg white. An ice tray is also ideal for storing small amounts of product, and surgical gloves are also helpful when you are having fun.

Used Occasionally

  • A double boiler or a mini slow cooker (1112 quarts or 20 ounces)
  • Molds made of silicone or Teflon

Some of the recipes that call for a mini slow cooker also require a double boiler. This item will make your life easier if you’re a fan of working with beeswax. You can also use these to make bath bombs, though they should be made with Teflon or silicone molds.

One of my anti-silicone rants is that it can clog one’s pores, and yet we use it as a tool instead of a product. We won’t be storing any of our skincare products in it.

Storage Equipment

I love to make my products and use old glass containers to store them to reduce my impact on the environment. Doing so not only saves me money but also helps the environment. To keep the containers clean, I usually peel off the labels and store them in the appropriate place.

The holiday season is officially here, and it’s that time of year again when everyone gets excited about the back-to-back gatherings, the office year-end, and the family get-together. However, with every holiday party comes responsibility and stress, and it’s important to make sure that everything goes smoothly.

Getting everything done and still having time to indulge in the holiday spirit is a must. Unfortunately, many people are left feeling overwhelmed by the endless tasks that come with the holiday season.

Sticky Labels

The secret to great skin is hydration, both inside and out. While drinking water is important, it’s also important to keep in mind that foods such as lemons and cucumbers have high water content, which can help prolong the hydration of your body.

Getting enough water is also important to maintaining a healthy and balanced diet. According to Kelly, drinking water between meals is a better way to nourish your body than having it consume sugary drinks. Also, by having water between meals, your body can absorb more nutrients from your food.

• Bottles and jars that are decorative

• Canning jars

• Rollers and/or atomizers for perfume

• Bottles for spraying

• Bottles of toner

If you’re planning on making various homemade products, such as hairsprays, perfumes, and body butter, then spray bottles and atomizers are great tools. Also, squeeze bottles and shower-safe bottles are ideal for washing and conditioning.

Glass bottles are also great for holding bath salts. You can also find various types of containers that are made with durable and attractive glass. If you’re planning on gifting your homemade products, then you can also create and print your labels.

Application Tools

According to Kelly, a healthy diet and a well-rounded skincare routine are two of the most important factors that can help improve the appearance of one’s skin. She recommends consuming a variety of nutrients and oils to nourish and protect one’s skin.

The more simple ingredients that Kelly uses in her skincare routine are the ones that can help her look and feel her best. For her cleanser, she recommends using a gentle yet effective blend of coconut and aloe. Her moisturizer is also formulated with a combination of hyaluronic acid and squalane to deeply nourish and protect her skin.

I love to use products on my hands. Doing so helps me get the blood flowing and stimulates circulation. For me, facial massages are a great way to improve blood flow. Aside from hands, you can also use other parts of the body for better circulation.

  • Washcloths made of cotton or silk
  • Fan brush with natural bristles

Soft and non-abrasive cotton or silk washcloths are great for keeping your skin feeling fresh and clean. They can also be used to apply a facial mask without having to use your hands. After you’ve finished your treatment, use a fan brush to clean your face and then dry it with a blow dryer.

You can also rub alcohol on your face to extend the life of your brush. Doing so will keep the product from building up and causing bacteria on your skin. You should also wash your cloth after every use to prevent buildup.

One of the most important components of the skin’s natural moisture barrier is fat. According to Kelly, this fat helps nourish and tone the skin. Unfortunately, too much fat can lead to lackluster-looking skin.

For optimal skin health, Kelly recommends eating a variety of fish such as sardines, salmon, and oysters. These contain high levels of omega-3 fatty acids that help nourish and tone the skin. They also contain other nutrients such as vitamin D and protein.
